Obama Gaining in PA?

Think Wednesday's ABC debate hurt Obama's chance in next week's Pennsylvania primary?  New Yahoo Buzz data and recent offline polls might cause you to think again.

According to data just released by Yahoo, online interest in the candidates among PA voters predictably spiked after the PA debate, but Obama's spike is much more pronounced than Clinton's.

These numbers mirror national online interest somewhat, though in PA the gap between the candidates is much smaller.

Now compare this to offline polls.  Real Clear Politics has been showing a gain for Obama for last couple of weeks, and as of today he's closer to Clinton than he's ever been, averaging 5.6 points behind.

And while a new Gallup poll shows Hillary closing in on Obama's national lead, he's still comfortably ahead according to the RCP national average

Coupled with a poll suggesting that online voters in PA strongly support Obama, there seems to be a serious between online engagement and offline polling (as always), but in any case it looks like Obama's debate performance hasn't hurt him, and may have even helped him, at least among more engage online voters.  Everything will become clear on Tuesday, but can we wait till then?
