Barack Obama's Latest Tweet

For a while now, John Edwards held the lead of using Twitter to connect with voters. But Obama has finally gotten into the hang of it. And instead of simply answering the question, "What are you doing?" he's taking it even further and establishing a platform.
The latest message, posted 21 hours ago:
"Thinking we can cut oil consumption by 2.5 million barrels of oil per day and take 50 million cars’ worth of pollution off the road by 2020."
Sounds like a lofty goal, but doable perhaps. Unfortunately microblogging through Twitter doesn't enable Obama the opportunity to discuss the steps necessary to make this cut of oil consumption happen.

Realizing America's fuel independence...
...is a bipartisan, bicameral effort which started last year by Reps. Jack Kingston (R-GA) and Eliot Engel (D-NY):
Our intern-series, Journeys with Jack, with Jack and Eliot driving a hybrid to help promote fuel choices and better technology:
Press announcement of the bill if you really want to dig in:
