Nice question RE FEC

Nice question regarding the FEC David. That is a topic that might really be worth exploring with some experts in the subject area I think.

There was the recent decision that blogs were excluded from those rules for their activities, and on some level I suppose SL is similar. But to me it seems like this is different than a blog because these things like the Edwards HQ are there for the express purpose of promoting the candidate and real money gets spent doing that.

And thanks, I'm still learning about SL myself. It's very interesting and I see possibilities but I'm not sure where it is going yet. Second Life recently announced on their blog (http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/02/27/bringing-voice-to-second-life/) that voice communication is coming soon. For me that seems to allow it to become like meetup 2.0.

Raven -

Fascinating post and excellent contribution to those of us who are, at the least, intrigued by figuring out the maze of SL.

Edwards is an experiment. And we can all learn from his gains/losses.

Nicely done.

P.S. Will the FCC have to regulate Second Life contributions to campaigns?
Edwards' Second Life HQ Vandalized

Earlier this month TechPresident announced the creation of John Edwards' unofficial campaign headquarters in Second Life. It was put together by a volunteer not officially associated with the campaign. As noted in the article that makes him the first 2008 presidential candidate to establish a presence in Second Life, official or not.

I decided to stop by, only to discover that Edwards' Second Life headquarters had chalked up another first, the first virtual campaign HQ to be vandalized.
