 <title>Lack of pro-candidate Democratic blogs</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Here are just a few reasons as to why the Netroots hasn&#039;t been a force in the primary:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1) Al Gore was the Netroots candidate (as evidenced by DailyKos and DFA strawpolls), and he took a pass.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2) Neither the Clinton nor Obama campaigns have actively courted the Netroots. The Edwards and Dodd campaigns have, and it&#039;s no coincidence that those two candidates are tops among the Netroots. But being ahead online doesn&#039;t translate into gains in the polls. Only the Dean campaign has been able to pull that off so far.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;3) The progressive Netroots has a one cycle headstart on the conservative blogosphere in this area because there was no Republican presidential primary in 2004. Also the Netroots has also grown to be much more activism-focused rather than commentary-focused. Candidate blogs just aren&#039;t needed when there are already so many established activist community blogs out there.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>What Ron Paul&#039;s $4.3M Means</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;November 5th wasn&#039;t a genius idea thought up by Ron Paul&#039;s inner circle. It came from the grassroots. Why don&#039;t campaigns initiate more of this stuff? Because the odds are that supporters are the ones who will be coming up with most of the new ideas, not you. Trippi&#039;s axiom about 600,000 online supporters being smarter than 200 people in Burlington still applies. Campaigns succeed not by appropriating the good ideas from the grassroots, but by giving them license to flourish outside the campaign walls, and showing their thanks and appreciation when they actually do work. &lt;/p&gt;
