Are we surfing the same net? Funniest, most intriguing, most provocative viral video of the week was "Rudy Giuliani's ""Not Gay like Fred Thompson" posted by abrad2345. Did you not include it because it really is coming from the Giuliani camp? I'm still 50/50 regarding its origin.

Your numbers are way off. I'm not sure where your YouTube numbers came from, but our site on YouTube (www.youtube.com/FredThompson) is curently at more than 25,000 views.

Keep in mind that is only a fraction of total views because we're using Blip.tv as our player (http://fredthompson.blip.tv). Blip has registered almost 150,000 views through their site and from our home page.

I'd also add that the video you included is the commercial we ran Wednesday night, not the announcement video.

Ron Paul consistantly wins online polls that are fraud proof. Here is the poll from Freedomworks (a respected conservative action website) where Ron Paul won 56% of 16,000 votes that were valididated through email.

*No one* has come forward with actual proof of fraud. The Ron Paul grassroots campaign is online, organized, and active. We have 38,000 meetup members already. It is very easy to get the word out for any major online poll.

By linking to Margolis' post I'm not making a judgment about Paul or his supporters. Valid or not, online Republican straw pollsters have consistently complained about Paul supporters gaming their polls. It's worth mentioning.

1) I don't see anything about Jesse Benton in the link you provided. Would you please point me to the actual accusation?

2) Isn't it a bit irresponsible to repeat this innuendo with no proof? We've heard Ron Paul supporters called "spammers" repeatedly, but it's rarely anything more than someone with an online poll who doesn't like the outcome.

I call on Mr. Margolis to provide evidence of his accusations.

I've been visiting this site for approx. 6 months now keeping an eye on what has been said, and the online support for the candidates. I have an issue with one of your points.

"and six points ahead of Ron Paul, who finished fifth, proving that his fanatical online support has yet to move offline."

I think that statement on Ron Paul appears on the surface to be correct, but is fundamentally flawed. Ron Paul has been consistently polling at 2% or less across the country. He campaigned in Iowa for only 1 week, and got nearly 10% of the vote. Several of the other 2nd tier candidates spent so much time and money in Iowa just to win this straw poll that their campaigns have been nearly crippled by their lack of money. I think this poll was a very positive thing for the Ron Paul campaign as it showed he doesn't need to spend a huge amount of money or time to gain a fairly large group of support. He also is sitting fine financially for the rest of the campaign as it heats up more.

I picked up on your discovery/discussion about the candidates tip-toeing into the Search market.

Here's the poser, [the context is I'm responding to a mainstream British commentator]:

'Now Freedland (any of the commentariat actually) mulling on how politicians do Search Marketing would be fascinating. If someone's searching on "mexico prescription drugs", do you advertise? Do you do battle in the vector for voter misery?'
