Romney Week in Review

January 4, 2007

This week, Governor Romney took the "silver medal" in the Iowa Caucuses.Governor Romney started out virtually unknown in Iowa, particularly compared to candidates with national name ID. We have come very far considering where the campaign started in January 2007.

This was a contest for the three tickets out of Iowa, and Governor Romney got his ticket and is in a strong position as he campaigns for the New Hampshire primary next Tuesday.

Iowa is thebeginning of a process that will select the Republican nominee - and that nominee will be Governor Romney.

On Thursday, Romney for President launched its latest television ad, "Remember."

The ad highlights the people of New Hampshire discussing the issues that are important to them - lowering tax burdens, securing our borders and changing Washington. While rightly honored as a true patriot, Senator McCain has opposed tax relief, supported amnesty and is too much of a Washington insider to change Washington.

The truth is that Senator McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts and supported last year's amnesty bill. That's straight talk for being in Washington too long and that's leadership our country cannot afford.
