Bio:

Prior Campaign Experience:

  • Director of Online Communications for Clark '04

Claims to Fame:

Carbone was co-founder and Executive Producer of Real Fans Sports Network which was acquired by America Online in 1997. Carbone continued working at AOL on interactive projects like AOLTV Draft Wesley Clark.

After Senator Zell Miller's speech at the Republican National Convention for the 2004 election Carbone founded ZellOut.com a Web site described as "an online campaign that calls on Senator Zell Miller to declare himself a Republican and switch parties" CommonDreams.

In January of 2006 Carbone raised the ire of Markos Moulitsas Zuniga also known as DailyKos after Sen. Biden made a comment about Barack Obama that was considered by Kos to be racist. Carbone sent an e-mail to the blogger complaining he was giving readers a "one-sided impression" of Biden. Kos responded by saying "Aside from the fact that this poor guy (Eric Carbone) thinks blogs are supposed to be "fair and balanced", it's true, I've completely forgotten to write about the other side of the story -- how Biden is a bought and paid for subsidiary of MBNA" DailyKos

Carbone's attempt to run interference was noted by the Beltway Boys as not only heightening the attention to the remark but then adding another layer of flak by giving Kos a follow-up opportunity to hit Sen. Biden with the "long-standing allegation that he is in the hip pocket of the financial industry".
