He provides expertise in applying technological solutions to a variety of industries through business process and objectives analysis.

Prior Campaign Experience: Ken has worked with organizations such as the Republican National Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Some of that work is detailed below:

• Through 2005 and 2006, Ken was involved in architecting, designing and developing the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) website which utilized news, blogs, videos, member sections with take action center, donations and a content management system that enabled the NRSC to maintain all the content on the site. During our development and support of the NRSC web site and email campaigns, their subscriber base grew by over 600% and donations grew over 60% in a non-election cycle.
• Campaign parody “hit” sites like “FancyFord” (Harold Ford Jr.), “Thank You, Debbie” (Debbie Stabenow), “Far Out Brown” (Sherrod Brown) and many others. A few of these sites have even been featured on MSNBC’s Hardball (http://video.msn.com/v/us/msnbc.htm?g=50fd0add-97f0-4773-a966-4cbd2e44d1e1&f=00&fg=email).
• Ken was involved with the Republican National Committee’s national Voter Vault application. His work with Voter Vault has included database development as well as building the web based upload tools for national voter files uploaded from the State Parties.
• Primary Election Results Tracking system for both the 2004 and 2006 elections. This application collected data feeds from phone banks, wireless applications and the Associated Press. After collecting the raw data, it was compiled and displayed on color coded national, state and county maps with complete data detail. These applications were highly secure and only visible to top Republican offices, including the White House.
• Other solutions implemented in these and other organizations include mass email communication tools, email campaigns, blogs, viral videos, donation systems, donation tracking and action centers.

“Hazelwood will work closely with Ken Smith, chief strategist for Episode 49 and Todd Zeigler of the Bivings Group. Smith's firm does programming development and builds databases and his Web sites' client list includes the RNC and NRSC. A former intern for Thompson, Zeigler said his firm will do some design, strategy and build tools for the Web site.
