YouTube stats
On March 1, YouTube launched YouChoose '08, a new channel devoted to political video. Several, but not all, of the presidential candidates have added their videos to the site, which provides a channel for each candidate. These charts show the number of views and subscriptions each for each candidates' channel, divided by Republicans and Democrats.
Notes:
On YouTube, there is a discrepancy between the number of channel views for each candidate and the number of views of candidates' individual videos. For example, Chris Dodd's top two videos combined have more views than his entire channel. So while we will continue tracking the number of channel views as reported by YouTube, the actual number of individual views may be higher. We are told this will be fixed shortly, so that channel views will be the total of individual video views, and will make any necessary changes as soon as we can. [posted 3.23.07]
We believe that YouTube's channel view stats may have been corrupted by efforts to game their statistics. We are leaving this chart up for now so you can see the raw data from YouTube, but read this post to find out why we think it should be taken with a large grain of salt. [3.27.07]
